CBS Developing Pilot Based On Training Day Movie | Celebrity Gossip

Training Day is the latest movie being developed into a TV show. Reportedly, CBS is producing a pilot based on the 2001 movie, which earned Denzel Washington an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2001. According to Variety.com

The television adaptation is set in the LAPD of 2015, with the series picking up 15 years after the events of the Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures film.

The original “Training Day” movie director Antoine Fuqua is behind the television series, attached as director and exec producer.

Training Day was released in theaters on October 5, 2001, and was a box office hit, landing at #1. The film stayed in the top-ten box office until the seventh week of release, landing at #12. With an estimated budget of $ 45 million, Training Day went on to gross $ 76,631,907 domestically and $ 104,876,233 worldwide. Along with Denzel, the film starred Ethan Hawke, Eva Mendes, Scott Glenn, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Macy Gray and others.
