Budweiser Demands Its Beer to be Removed from 'Flight' - BIGSTAR.tv

Anheuser-Busch has asked Paramount Pictures to remove all Budweiser products from the movie “Flight.” Denzel Washington portrays a highly-functional alcoholic pilot in the film. The actor drinks various forms of alcohol throughout the film, including vodka.

The film earned $25 million at the box office, but is not as popular with Anheuser-Busch. It has been reported that Paramount Pictures did not receive product placement permission from the beer company.

The Vice President of Budweiser revealed to ‘The Associate Press,’ “We would never condone the misuse of our products, and have a long history of promoting responsible drinking and preventing drunk driving. We have asked the studio to obscure the Budweiser trademark in current digital copies of the movie and on all subsequent adaptations of the film, including DVD, On Demand, streaming and additional prints not yet distributed to theaters.”

This isn’t the first time that Paramount has broken the product placement rules. They were sued by Slip ‘N Slide in 2003 for the use of the product in “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.”
