We have four movies coming out for home viewing today. One of them hopes to do a lot better than it did at theaters.
The Disney movie 'John Carter' was a flop at the box office, at least from a financial stand point. However, the movie about a man out to save Mars still made $75 million. John Carter is rated PG-13.
Next up is 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' starring Dewayne Johnson. The storyline focuses on an island that a young boy receives a coded message from. After reaching the island, the boy discovers a place beyond his wildest dreams. 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' is rated PG.
Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington star in the action spy thriller 'Safe House'. When Reynolds character Matt Weston is assigned to protect rogue agent Tobin Frost played by Washington, it lands him in the middle of mercenaries out to kill them both. Can they discover the truth in time? 'Safe House' is rated R.
Our final selection for today is 'Machine Gun Preacher' starring Gerard Butler as real life drug criminal turned orphan rescuer Sam Childers. Through redemption Childers turns from his evil ways to be a source for good in rescuing hundreds of children from warlord thugs in East Africa. 'Machine Gun Preacher' is rated R.
