Red Tails was one of those rare happenings in film; a historical epic drama about the Tuskegee Airmen, starring a vibrant Black cast including Nate Parker, Tristan Wilds, David Oyelowo, Cuba Gooding Jr. and produced by iconic Star Wars creator George Lucas.
The movie, now on DVD, revitalized the dramatic World War II tale by depicting the Airmen as the exciting, brave and heroic war heroes that they were. The action-packed film also ramped up the scene at theaters; Red Tails grossed over 50 million dollars in box office receipts.
