The Greatest Films From The Director Tony Scott
Tony Scott is one of the better action directors in the game today. He clearly has a distinct style; it is easy to recognize a Tony Scott film. He also seems to have an affinity for certain actors. Denzel Washington seems to be his favorite, while he also enjoys making movies with Gene Hackman.
Let's discuss some of the better Tony Scott films from throughout the years.
One movie that I will definitely include on this list is True Romance. Supposedly, up and coming screenwriter Quentin Tarantino (this was the early 90s) sold this script to the minimum amount to a studio who put Tony Scott at the helm. Scott may have directed this movie, but its got Tarantino written all over it.
Another movie that is certainly worth mentioning in this article is Man On Fire. This movie tells the story of real life bodyguard John Creasy, who tore up Mexico City after a girl he was protecting gets kidnapped. I'm not sure how much of this film is actually true, but it is awesome nonetheless.
Déjà Vu is another great Tony Scott directed movie. This film stars Denzel Washington (surprise, surprise) and takes place in one of the greatest American cities there is, New Orleans. If you like films involving time travel, this one is worth seeing.
The Last Boy Scout is another interesting film that happens to be directed by Tony. I was a little young to fully appreciate this film when I saw it for the first time, but upon watching it again recently, I realized that is a great movie.
The final movie on this list is Top Gun. Top Gun truly defined the late 80s action movie. This film stars Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and whoever that guy is who played Goose.
As it stands, this is the Tony Scott best-of list. I am holding out hope for Unstoppable, which looks awesome and also stars Denzel Washington. Excessive much?
