Anybody who doesn't know what it's like to go to a basketball game please read on.
Of course the first thing that you see is how big the stadium really is.
Before the game started it didn't look like this
It looked a little bit more like this………we were in a suite that Raghu mama had arranged. It could seat about 30 people and we had food and drinks and a yummy dessert trolley. We met lots of family there.
Mum really really excited for the game
The whole show starts when the athletes come on and start warming up and stretching. They usually need some help……..
Mum was shocked that they play music throughout the game; there was even an amazing magic show in half-time. This is LA after all, the entertainment capital of the world so even sport has to be theatrical. Everything is dramatic, the singing of the National anthem, the introduction of the players, the booming sound of the fans chanting "DEFEND, DEFEND". One of the many many exciting things about going to a Lakers game is celebrity spotting……….
We managed to see: David Beckham, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez (they were on the kiss cam), Denzel Washington, Simon Baker, Diane Cannon, Ashton Kutcher, apparently Simon Helberg who I am now watching on Conan who was also a witness to Meta Worldpeace's epic elbow-in-my-opponents-head manoeuver (more about this later). We were lucky enough to celebrate Jack Nicholson's Birthday with him………..
My favourite part of the whole game is watching the………….
There were competitions where of course nobody really wins any money but someone managed to win a car and carried a massive key all around Los Angeles…………
Of course, the Laker Girls were very energetic with many dances and costumes, perfect hair and permanent fake smiles constantly pasted on their faces…….
We went to 3 Lakers Games in one week and they won 2 out of 3. Kobe managed to play in the last game in which he ran into 2 rows of people and of course Meta Worldpeace was sent off for a flagrant foul and the game managed to go to DOUBLE OVERTIME! It was a lot of fun and I am now a huge Lakers fan - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU RAGHU MAMA FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL TREAT! And the Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the cupcakes, Dil Chahta Hai and on and on…
